I loved this book and recommended it during the holidays to parents looking for “puzzle” books for their kids. The second book just came out a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to read it. The title is The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey.

Have you read the new one, Tricia? This first book is a tough act to follow and I really hope it’s as good.

I bought the second book as soon as it came out and tried to save it (and the fact that a second book even existed) for a special occasion. I managed somehow to keep it secret until we had finished the book and had a day or so to miss the characters — but when Lucy announced she was going to re-read the first book on her own, I broke down and brought the new one out. How could I resist??

There’s a second book. I haven’t even read the first yet although I’ve had for some time now. Better get on with it soon. Thanks for your review.

I just purchased three copies for our book Club, The Reading Trio. My grandson, my daughter(mommy), and myself(Granma). Can’t wait to start reading.
