This inspiring story of accepting what is and quietly making a difference is told through a series of letters written by a young girl who is sent to New York City to stay with her uncle as a result of the Great Depression. The generous illustrations and cleverly written letters convey the story effectively enough to keep me choked up from cover to cover.

This is one of our family’s favorite stories! Not only does it have a great message it’s also educational and the pictures are wonderful!
